There are a lot of things that people could say about being blind. Some misconceptions, some true. But one thing is for sure, they are the kind of people who would like to be both independent and proud---even when telling time.
In 1915 Omega created a special watch for people who were blind or losing their eyesight. This time, it’s no longer the Pocket Watch for the Blind that would help Omega in its active engagement in the fight against preventable and treatable blindness, but three special watches – the De Ville Hour Vision Blue and the Constellation Star in two sizes. These watches have been created to celebrate the partnership between Omega and Orbis International, a remarkable organization that has carried out programs in 89 countries to provide hands-on medical training, tools and technology for local partners to address the tragedy of avoidable blindness in their communities. Omega has pledged to donate a portion of its proceeds from each of these striking timepieces allowing watch connoisseurs and Omega fans to contribute to Orbis International’s fight against preventable blindness in all corners of the globe.
Come see those three watches (and many other great Omega timepieces) at Schiffman’s in Downtown Greensboro.
